The main deliverables of this experiment are: (1) a real Zettelkasten implemented on top of a conventional blog system; (2) free or extremely low cost system with unlimited storage; (3) test different study methods, measure and compare results; (4) empower the user with workflows, templates, and tools to facilitate authoring zettels correctly, in an uniform way, and fast. This Zettelkasten comes with a customized productivity toolset. This project is still a work in progress.
Basic productivity principles used in this project:
- 1. Tools - make use of time-saving tools and templates so the user never have to start a zettel from scratch.
- 2. Focus - focus in what the user is doing for 25-35 minutes, then mark the zettel with a TODO, and save it. Come back to it at least 5 minutes later.
- 3. System - systemize anything that repeats.
- 4. Workflows - (1) we use our modified version of the SQ4R Reading Method when gathering knowledge from books, white-papers, web pages, and other large documents; (2) we use Luhmann's workflow for ideas and small projects.
